Founding Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a design engineer to help us create beautiful and intuitive interfaces for the next generation of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain user-friendly interfaces for developers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and designers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software development and user interface design.
• Contribute to the design process from ideation to implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with UI/UX design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
• Strong understanding of programming languages and software development processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly designs.

Qualifications

• Passionate about creating elegant and functional software interfaces.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and its potential applications in software development.

Skills

• Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• Experience with prototyping tools and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay

We aim to pay roughly median salary and 90th percentile equity compared to similar companies at our stage. We give out more stock than other companies because we hire less, and each employee can make an unusually large impact. For exceptional talent, we're happy to pay exceptional amounts, in cash and especially equity.

Schedule

We are a remote-first company with a flexible schedule. We expect our employees to be available during standard business hours, but we encourage everyone to find a schedule that works best for them.
