About the role

We are seeking a Founding AE to lead our sales efforts and help scale Sapien's revenue engine. This role involves owning the full sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals, managing the pipeline, and shaping our sales motion.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from first meeting through close, including running discovery, demos, pilots, and commercial conversations with finance and analytics leaders.
  • Manage pipeline and forecast revenue, ensuring deals and revenue outcomes are met.
  • Help define Sapien’s sales process, pricing, packaging, and sales materials, working closely with the executive team.
  • Partner with founders on positioning, messaging, and narrative development.
  • Work with pipeline generation efforts (outbound, events, content) to ensure strong pipeline quality and conversion.
  • Develop deep expertise in finance and analytics workflows and the modern finance tech stack, feeding structured market insights back to engineering, product, and leadership.
  • Turn early customers into references, case studies, and expansion opportunities.

Requirements

  • Prior selling experience, ideally in Enterprise or Mid-Market selling roles.
  • Strong ability to own deal cycles end-to-end and lay process foundations for GTM.
  • Experienced in selling in complex/technical selling motions.
  • Ability to own a room and sell directly to leadership teams.
  • High agency, willing to take initiative and drive to resolution.

Qualifications

  • AI-native, using AI tools every day and showing others how to use them.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to maintain processes and outputs consistently.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience with CRM tools and sales methodologies.
