Founder’s Office Intern
About the role
Both Tails is a growing pet brand creating fun, design-forward apparel, accessories, and toys for dogs (and the people obsessed with them). We’re looking for a NYC-based college student to get hands-on experience in marketing, content, design, partnerships, product launches, and the day-to-day operations of building a consumer brand. This is a “Chief of Stuff” internship: part marketing intern, part creative assistant, part founder’s right hand.
Responsibilities
- Help brainstorm TikTok, Instagram, email, and campaign ideas
- Assist with creating and designing social content
- Help plan photoshoots and create mood boards
- Find creators, dog influencers, photographers, and potential brand partners
- Help with influencer gifting and outreach
- Research trends, competitors, and what’s happening in fashion, pets, and culture
- Help develop concepts for new products, prints, packaging, or merchandising
- Assist with upcoming launches and retail initiatives
- Help organize projects and keep creative ideas moving from concept to execution
- Join brainstorming sessions directly with the founder and contribute ideas that shape the brand
Requirements
- Attend FIT, Parsons, NYU, The New School, Pace, Baruch, or another NYC-area school
- Studying marketing, advertising, fashion business, communications, graphic design, product design, or a related field
- Have a strong visual eye and understand what makes a brand feel cool
- Knowledge of Canva is a plus
- Organized, proactive, curious, and comfortable figuring things out
- Have ideas and aren’t afraid to share them
- Want to learn what it takes to build a young consumer brand
You do not need years of experience. We prioritize taste, initiative, creativity, and alignment with our brand vision.
Why this internship?
You won’t be sitting on the sidelines—you’ll work closely with the founder, contribute ideas that can actually make it into the brand, and gain exposure to social media, e-commerce, retail, influencer marketing, product development, creative direction, and entrepreneurship. If you’ve ever wanted to help build a brand from the ground up, this is that opportunity.
Bonus points
- Your camera roll is mostly dogs
- You can spot a TikTok trend before a brand ruins it
- You have strong opinions about fonts
- You walk through NYC and mentally critique every store window
- You love fashion/design/pop culture AND dogs
- You’re the person in a group project who gets everything over the finish line
