Job Summary
The Program Coordinator oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of our monthly programs, reporting to the Indus Cares Program Manager. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and a passion for social service and community development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in program coordination.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid state driver’s license.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to think creatively and drive innovative problem solving; strong commitment to the mission of the Indus Cares Foundation and passion for serving our residents; familiarity with the nonprofit, philanthropic and/or foundation sectors within Houston; strong written and oral communication skills; strong quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills; proven background as a team player who strives to understand and deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers; proficient computer skills and familiarity with database systems.
Principal Responsibilities
- Creates announcements for the upcoming programs and events to be distributed to our residents.
- Enters announcements to go out to residents on a scheduled delivery.
- Serves as an on-site representative for the Indus Cares Foundation at all Indus Communities.
- Manages a small budget for purchasing items to support events or initiatives for Indus Cares.
- Visits Indus Communities to manage volunteers and/or staff to ensure that goals and standards are met for program/event success.
- Determines the route and weekly plan to visit program sites and volunteers.
- Aids in the production of content to be used for Foundation’s social media pages and websites.
- Identifies program and service opportunities to better serve our residents within the mission of the Foundation.
- Identifies Indus Communities that have a need and can be assisted with the development of a program or service for the resident's needs.
- Aids in the production and execution of special events for Indus Cares/Indus Communities.
- Adapts responsibilities to the tasks required by the Program Manager or Board of Directors of Indus Cares.
