Foundation Laborer I

Position Summary

Transmission Foundation Laborer 1 is an entry-level position in construction, with the primary function to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while supporting the overall project.

Essential Functions

• Spot tools and material
• Assist with truck and equipment set up; strip forms
• Perform cleanup and other miscellaneous tasks
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working order
• Able to perform rigorous physical labor
• Understand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools
• Able to receive and follow directions
• Possess a basic knowledge of materials used in line work
• Understand when to wear personal protective equipment
• Able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather
• Perform all other related work as required to complete the job

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English
• Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
• Willing to work overtime when requested

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel, operate objects, tools, and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms
• Frequent rigorous physical labor; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl
• Frequent lifting or moving up to an excess of 50 lbs
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision. Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
• Work environment and job sites can be loud
• Position is performed in outside weather conditions
