Foster Parent - Hope House

About the role

Live in a private, fully furnished all expenses paid home provided by One Hope United. Serve as a positive, stable role model and caregiver for up to 4 youth. Create a nurturing, family-style environment using our trauma-informed Trust Based Relational Intervention Model (we train you!). Maintain a therapeutic home environment. Interactions with all youth reflect a strengths-based, trauma informed approach. Support youth with life skills, school attendance, daily routines, and recreational activities. Establish and sustain positive relationships with youth biological parents, social workers, counselors, child psychologists, teachers, mentors, and any members of the treatment team.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Experience working with youth (3+ years required)
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Foster Parents must agree to comply with all state licensing requirements and consent to being listed on the home license.
  • A calm, confident presence—especially in stressful or emotional situations
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds in a respectful, equitable way
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass a background check.
