Foster Parent
About the role
Provide foster care that helps children and youth find belonging in a happy and healthy home. Work with our team to deliver well-rounded, compassionate care by meeting the daily needs of children, encouraging healthy relationships, and attending training to learn and stay current with best parenting practices. Experience the enrichment that comes from helping children in need while receiving non-taxable remuneration.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, healthy home environment for children and youth in foster care
- Collaborate with the Vantage team on goal planning using a trauma-informed lens
- Attend required training to maintain and develop parenting skills
- Support the emotional and developmental needs of foster children
Requirements
- Complete an interview, assessment, and documentation process to ensure a good fit
- Be open to learning and applying trauma-informed care practices
- Provide care for placements that may be short or long-term, depending on the situation
