About the role
Provides a physically and emotionally safe living environment that meets the child’s physical, social and emotional needs.
Ensures regular school attendance and compliance with any medical, legal or recreational appointments.
Collaborates with the child's birth family as outlined by the foster care agreement.
Offers emotional support and stability to facilitate the smoothest transition possible for the foster child and foster family.
Maintains regular communication with the foster care agency and assigned case workers.
Attends applicable Family Team Meetings.
Participates in required ongoing training (20 hours annually).
Requirements
- A high school diploma
- At least 21 years old
- An acceptable background check according to Nebraska State and Federal statutes and regulations
- A valid driver’s license
- Foster Parent Licensure
- Previous child care, human services, educational experience is preferred
- Completes pre-service training
