About the Role
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as a Foster Home Licensing Specialist. This position completes the required assessments to ensure families meet DCFS licensing standards and are prepared to care for children. The role provides support and strengthens Department relationships with foster parents, assists families in resolving compliance issues, and ensures foster homes provide a safe, caring environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Serves as Foster Home Licensing Specialist.
- Coordinates with other units and staff, including the Office of Professional Development, caseworkers, investigators, recruiters, and foster parent support specialists.
- Consults with DCFS staff and Child & Adolescent Local Area Networks (C&A LANs) to recommend foster family resources that best meet the needs of children, including support services to maintain those resources.
- Conducts investigations into complaints about licensed foster/adoptive homes in accordance with the Childcare Act.
- Provides, maintains, and updates reports, statistics, records, and documentation of activities on a monthly basis or as needed.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the role.
Pay
Anticipated starting salary: $6,460 per month
Full salary range: $6,460 – $9,337 per month
