About the role
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as a Foster Home Licensing Specialist. This position completes the required assessment to ensure families meet DCFS licensing standards and are prepared to care for children. It provides support and strengthens Department relationships with foster parents, assists families in resolving compliance issues, and helps ensure foster homes offer a safe, caring environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Complete the required assessment to ensure families meet DCFS licensing standards and are prepared to care for children.
- Coordinate with other units and staff, including the Office of Learning and Professional Development, caseworkers, investigators, recruiters, and foster parent support specialists.
- Consult with DCFS staff and Child & Adolescent Local Area Networks (C&A LANs) with recommendations about the selection of foster family resources that best meet the needs of children, including recommendations for support services to maintain the resources.
- Conduct investigations relative to complaints about licensed foster/adoptive homes in accordance with the Childcare Act.
- Provide and maintain reports, statistics, records, and documentation of activities on a monthly basis or as needed.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Pay
Anticipated starting salary: $6,460 per month. Full salary range: $6,460 – $9,337 per month.
