Description
Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has since expanded to operate across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson's continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care programs, all of which are trauma-informed and evidence-based.
What will you do as a Foster Care Coordinator?
- Support the success and stability of foster placements by providing case management and support to foster families
- Coordinate services and manage documentation and compliance tasks
- Collaborate with internal staff and community partners
- Conduct home visits
- Engage in marketing and outreach efforts to increase visibility and awareness of the foster care program
- Develop content or materials for outreach and engage with the community to recruit and support new foster homes
- Flexibility is key, some evenings or weekends may be required based on family needs, events, or outreach opportunities
- Participate in an on-call weekend rotation to ensure 24/7 support and coverage for foster families in the Greenville area in case of emergencies or urgent needs

Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
- Education requirement for this individual contributor role is: Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills
- Mets designation as a Qualified Professional in SC
