About Thompson

Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. Responsibilities

• Provide support, guidance, coordination, and intervention to assigned youth and families in the Foster Care program.
• Display trauma-informed practices and principles in interactions with customers, peers, and leadership.
• Ensure documentation for all foster children meets regulatory compliance.
• Manage the entire health record for assigned cases.
• Ensure treatment plans and authorizations adhere to policy.
• Provide effective crisis response as needed.
• Be punctual, arrive on time, and be prepared for daily responsibilities.

Performance will be measured by individual outcomes, achieving targets/goals, contribution to the program team/department, and alignment with the organization’s culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Valid Driver License and ability to meet credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards for the department.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Meets designation as a Qualified Professional in NC.
• Must pass a drug screening test and an extensive background check.

This position will serve families in the Asheville-Hickory Region.

Pay

Starting pay range: $19.00–$22.12 hourly.
