Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, review, and implementation of services, case management, and safety or behavior intervention plans.
- Oversee all services provided to children and families, ensuring quality of care, compliance with contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate community referrals, resources, and services to support family needs.
- Care for and monitor required medical and dental services for foster children.
- Visit each assigned child at least once per month in the foster home.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and submit timely documentation and reports.
- Prepare court reports and petitions; attend hearings and provide testimony related to permanency, safety, and well-being.
- Cook up and monitor visitation between children, parents, siblings, and relatives.
- Serve as a liaison with schools, community agencies, and service providers.
- Participate in staff meetings, treatment planning, and professional development activities.
- Administer drug screens and transport clients as needed.
- Engage families in case planning and encourage active participation in services.
- Provide emergency, on-call interventions after hours, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
- Integrate learning from required DHHS training into daily responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a human services-related field (required).
- Current and valid Michigan driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance (required).
- Experience in foster care, child welfare, or family services (preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Courteous, reliable, and committed to ethical and professional practice.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
