Foster Care Case Manager
About the Role
Provide quality child and family centered care that facilitates the healthy development of children and family stability. Services are delivered in the home, court, and community and include assessment, safety and goal planning, case management, and coordination. Positive outcomes are achieved through purposeful and respectful relationships rooted in trauma-informed care, hope, and evidence-based research.
While the city/county listed in this posting will be the primary office location, the Foster Care Case Manager will hold a blended caseload that includes cases in both Muskegon and Ottawa Counties.
Responsibilities
- Deliver services in the home, court, and community
- Conduct assessments, safety and goal planning, and case management
- Coordinate care and services for children and families
- Build purposeful and respectful relationships using trauma-informed care
Requirements
- BSW or other qualified related Bachelor’s degree per State of Michigan Child Welfare Standards
- Prior experience working with children and families
- Prior experience with community-based work
- Knowledge of/experience in Muskegon and Ottawa County (required)
- Clean driving record and current auto insurance
- Previous foster care/child welfare experience, including CWTI training (strongly preferred)
- Michigan Child Welfare Certificate (a plus)
Qualifying degrees from an accredited institution include: Counseling and Guidance, Child Development, Criminal Justice, Family and Child Ecology, Sociology, Family Community Services, Family Studies, and Family Life Education. Other degrees will not be eligible.
