Forward Deployed Researcher - Data as a Service

For our client, we are seeking a Forward Deployed Researcher - Data as a Service to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role sits at the intersection of applied AI research, customer engagement, and data strategy. You will work closely with advanced AI teams to shape datasets, define evaluation approaches, and translate research needs into practical technical plans. The position also requires partnering with commercial teams and external stakeholders to help move complex AI initiatives from concept to production impact. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $180,000 – $300,000 annually Responsibilities Partner with AI research labs to design impactful datasets and environments Lead technical discussions to define model capabilities and requirements Evaluate model behavior to identify weaknesses and data strategies Design frameworks and rubrics for measurable project success Develop technical specifications balancing research and feasibility Collaborate as a thought partner during the sales cycle Stay updated on frontier AI research and methodologies Qualifications Strong expertise in frontier AI concepts such as LLMs and evaluation methodologies Experience in applied ML research or data science with a customer-facing focus Proficiency in Python and familiarity with relevant ML frameworks Excellent communication skills for diverse audience engagement Familiarity with data workflows and synthetic data generation Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment B.S. in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years in AI/ML roles Benefits Employee stock options and equity participation Opportunities for technical skill deepening and leadership exploration Engagement in impactful projects influencing real production systems Support for career growth in a learning-oriented environment Work with world-class customers on challenging data problems Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
