About the role
The company is partnering with a leading organization to find a Forward Deployed Engineer based in the United States. This role involves building the technical foundation for AI-powered healthcare solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and cloud data services to process healthcare data from various sources.
- Build scalable data transformation workflows to convert raw healthcare data into production-ready datasets supporting AI applications.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Create data quality frameworks, validation rules, and monitoring processes to identify and resolve integration issues.
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges, including schema mismatches, transformation errors, and performance bottlenecks.
- Create reusable data components, integration patterns, and technical documentation to improve future implementations.
- Optimize pipeline performance for large-scale healthcare datasets while ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Support production deployments by coordinating testing, validation, and technical readiness with infrastructure teams.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering workflows and improve solution quality.
- Act as a technical advisor to healthcare partners, translating complex data and AI concepts into practical recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partner stakeholders to define technical requirements, data mappings, and architecture decisions.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute insights from partner implementations to improve products, processes, and technical standards.
Requirements
- Experienced data engineer or technical solutions professional with strong expertise in data integration, cloud technologies, and healthcare data environments.
- Advanced proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and data transformation techniques.
- Holds 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, solution delivery, or related technical roles with strong ETL expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Blob Storage, and Delta Lake.
- Strong understanding of data quality practices, testing methodologies, and troubleshooting complex data issues.
- Experience working with modern data architectures, including data warehouses, lakehouses, or scalable cloud-based platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose technical challenges.
- Consultant mindset with the ability to build trust, communicate effectively, and adapt solutions to different partner environments.
- Strong ownership mentality with accountability for technical quality, delivery outcomes, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare data sources such as EHR, claims, clinical, laboratory, or imaging data.
- Familiarity with Epic Clarity, healthcare data models, or healthcare system integrations.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards including FHIR, HL7v2, DICOM, LOINC, SNOMED, or ICD-10.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data security best practices.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with data formats such as JSON, XML, Parquet, and CSV.
- Experience optimizing complex data transformations for performance and scale.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar solutions.
- Previous experience in forward deployment, solutions engineering, or client-facing technical consulting roles.
