BCG X teams own the full analytics value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing, and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully embrace AI. Our product offerings span from fully custom builds to industry-specific leading-edge AI software solutions.

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you’ll be part of our rapidly growing engineering team and help build the next generation of AI solutions. You’ll partner with clients across BCG regions and industries on key topics like climate change, enabling them to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions. Additional responsibilities include developing and delivering thought leadership in scientific communities, publishing papers, and leading conferences on behalf of BCG X.

Responsibilities

• Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software.
• Actively participate in every part of the software development life cycle.
• Guide non-technical teams and consultants in best practices for robust software development.
• Optimize and enhance the computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
• Work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, interacting directly with clients on new features for future product releases.
• Collaborate in teams to share software design and solution ideas.
• Solve problems and explore topics across a breadth of industries as a natural problem-solver and intellectually curious individual.

Requirements

This position is open to students currently pursuing a full-time Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree and graduating between December 2026 and August 2027. The deadline to apply is September 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.

• Passion for software development, large-scale data analytics, and transforming organizations into AI-led innovative companies.
• Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python.
• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of your home office and be available to work in the office as directed.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and work extended hours as needed for personal and professional growth.

Pay

The first-year base compensation for this role ranges from $110,000 to $190,000 USD.
