About the Role
Our BCG X teams own the full analytics value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing, and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully embrace AI. Our product offerings span from fully custom builds to industry-specific leading-edge AI software solutions.
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you’ll be part of our rapidly growing engineering team and help build the next generation of AI solutions. You’ll partner with clients across BCG regions and industries on key topics like climate change, enabling them to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions. Additional responsibilities include developing and delivering thought leadership in scientific communities, publishing papers, and leading conferences on behalf of BCG X.

Responsibilities
- Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software.
- Actively participate in every part of the software development life cycle.
- Guide non-technical teams and consultants in best practices for robust software development.
- Optimize and enhance the computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and interact directly with clients on new features for future product releases.
- Collaborate in teams to share software design and solution ideas.
- Solve problems and explore topics across a breadth of industries with intellectual curiosity.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a full-time Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027.
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of your home office and be available in the office as directed.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
- Occasional extended working hours due to the accelerated path of personal and professional growth.
Skills
- Proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
- Experience with large-scale data analytics.
- Passion for transforming organizations into AI-led innovative companies.
Pay
The first-year base compensation for this role ranges from $110,000 to $190,000 USD.
