Forvis Mazars has launched the Forvis Mazars Foundation UK, an independent charity aimed at boosting social mobility among young people across the country. The Foundation will direct resources toward UK charities working with under-25s, focusing initially on bridging the attainment gap, improving access to life skills, and widening education and employment pathways.

The Foundation is backed by an annual donation from Forvis Mazars’ UK partnership and will offer pro bono services, skills-based volunteering, and funding. Its mission is to support “under-resourced young people, helping them achieve their potential and build a positive future.”

James Gilbey, CEO of Forvis Mazars in the UK, stated, “Every young person deserves the chance to reach their full potential, and through the Foundation, we aim to provide the support to make that happen.”

Initial Support and Partners

The Foundation’s first wave of support includes £400,000 in grants to six charity partners:

  • EveryYouth – Funding for its Employed, Project Flourish, and Boost initiatives tackling youth homelessness.
  • Future First – Support for 30 alumni networks in state schools in deprived areas.
  • Get Further – Investment in scaling up student engagement and organisational capacity.
  • Leadership Through Sport & Business – Funding to launch a business bootcamp in Glasgow and expand national delivery of its FutureYou programme.
  • Learning with Parents – Support to build out infrastructure and increase support for schools and families.
  • My Time Young Carers – Funding the Equity for Young Carers project to share best practice nationwide.

Background and Ethos

The Foundation builds on Forvis Mazars’ 40-year legacy of charitable giving through the Mazars Charitable Trust. The new structure formalises this legacy under a single banner with a focus on long-term, strategic outcomes. Its ethos is rooted in “doing the right thing, acting with respect, and taking responsibility,” aligning with the firm’s broader ESG agenda.

While the Foundation’s initial work centres on the UK, the firm noted that this move complements the global positioning of Forvis Mazars, following the recent transatlantic combination between Mazars and FORVIS to form a new top 10 global accounting network.
