Forming Setup Operator - B Shift

About the role

The essential job function of a Forming Setup Operator is to monitor, operate, and maintain glass syringe forming machines in line with other equipment (printer, module or various automated barrel transfer systems), inspection equipment, and ovens. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read, write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

B Shift: 6:00pm–6:00am (13.5% shift differential).

Responsibilities

• Operators have complete responsibility for their quality, production, waste, and machine workability/accountability.
• Monitor, operate, and maintain two (2) glass syringe forming machines.
• Understand and operate inspection & testing equipment.
• Identify and correct any dimensional defects and cosmetic defects according to current QC specifications to ensure good quality.
• Maintain equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule.
• Record accurate inspection data as required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the process.
• Provide coaching and on-the-job training to peers as required, once signed off.
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

• High-quality products produced per manufacturing documents.
• Accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum Experience: 5 years manufacturing experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED; 2 years mechanical/technical experience; use of measurement devices and quality records preferred.
