Position Description
Janicki is looking for someone that loves to learn new things, is technically competent and is trainable. Previous metals industry experience is preferred for this role but not necessarily needed as we will train for this role. The duties of the Plate Forming Press Operator include, but are not limited to:
- Operate Nieland 1000 Ton Shipbuilding Press, forming plates to match templates
- Operate 500T Accupress Press Brake
- Able to prepare and run complex bend setups and forming operations
- Understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part
- Thorough understanding of flat pattern layout
- Operate overhead crane
- Safely and efficiently operate standard metal working hand tools i.e. grinders, plasma cutters, measurement tools, torches, etc.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Previous Press brake operation experience desirable
- Welding and Press Brake experience is preferred, ability to bump form is a plus
- Attention to detail and decision-making skills, organization skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language, as well as computer literacy

- Wage range for this role is between $20 - $35 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits
- Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay
