About the role
Trojan Battery Company is looking for a committed and thorough person for the Formation I Operator role. (3rd shift)
Responsibilities
- On/off bear batteries from the production line
- Fill batteries with acid to the proper level
- Correctly apply caps on the batteries according to battery type
- Perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects
- Commit to performing the role safely and wearing all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator
Requirements
- Ability to use hand tools and learn specific machine controls, gauges, etc.
- Ability to work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant
- Capable of working in extreme temperatures and heavy environment is a plus
- Strong team skills
- Solve problems and recommend solutions
- Must be clean shaven
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or greater required
- 2-3 years’ manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work history
- Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Skills
- Ability to lift 50-80 lbs.
- Standing for long periods of time
