About the role
Trojan Battery Company is looking for a committed and thorough person for the Formation I Operator role (3rd shift).
Responsibilities
- On/off bear batteries from the production line.
- Fill batteries with acid to the proper level.
- Correctly apply caps on the batteries according to battery type.
- Perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects.
- Commit to performing the role safely and wearing all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or greater required.
- 2-3 years’ manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work history.
- Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions.
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Qualifications
- Must be clean shaven.
- All employees must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site.
- Capable of lifting 50-80 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
Skills
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and heavy environments (a plus).
- Strong team skills.
- Solve problems and recommend solutions.
