About the organisation

Formaat supports open youth work initiatives across Flanders with a team of around 25 staff members based in four cities in Flanders and Brussels. Open youth work includes initiatives started by young people, for young people—such as youth centres, self-organisations, outreach work, and more. All young people are welcome and encouraged to take initiative.

ikorganiseer.be is a collaboration between Formaat and seven structural partners, focusing on a positive event climate and providing clear, correct information for young event organisers. The website is a hub for reliable and high-quality information, aiming to inspire and support a thriving youth and event culture.

About the role

You will join the Communication Team, which ensures Formaat’s communication runs smoothly by supporting other teams, developing a clear communication strategy, and maintaining it. As a student worker, you will contribute to ikorganiseer.be by creating youth-focused content and adapting web content for social media.

Responsibilities

• Rewrite existing web pages on ikorganiseer.be in clear, youth-friendly language.
• Apply basic SEO techniques to web texts, including keywords, titles, and structure.
• Adapt web content into engaging formats for social media.
• Monitor performance and suggest improvements for the website and social media.

Requirements

• Ability to write fluently and clearly for a young audience.
• Background in communication, either through education or experience.
• Basic knowledge of SEO and its application in web texts.
• Ability to transform web content into attractive social media formats.
• Interest in nightlife and organising events.
• Motivation to grow in this role—even if you don’t meet every point, we encourage you to apply if you’re eager to learn.

Benefits

• A student contract for 11 days during the summer holidays.
• Gross salary of €1,460.83 for 11 days, based on the student wage scale of PC 329.01 b1c.
• Meal vouchers worth €8 per day.
• Reimbursement for commuting costs: either a bicycle allowance or full repayment of public transport.

The exact work period will be determined in consultation.

Work location

You will primarily work in Berchem (Antwerp), a 17-minute walk from Antwerp-Berchem train station, accessible via bus lines 32, 21, 30, or tram 15 from Antwerp-Central (Diamant).
