About the role

As a specialized nurse focusing on care and coercion (Wet zorg en dwang), you will embed and expand this specialization within our organization. You will be a proactive presence on location, fostering freedom-promoting care by engaging with care teams, answering questions, and providing coaching, guidance, and awareness. Together, you will explore the best approaches for client well-being, learning from one another.

In this meaningful and varied role, you serve as the point of contact for the Wet zorg en dwang. You support care teams with complex issues, actively contribute to alternatives for involuntary care, and inspire colleagues to make freedom-promoting care a daily reality. You are visible, approachable, and involved across locations, participating in case discussions, core team meetings, and on-the-job coaching. You translate legal and regulatory knowledge into practical, understandable guidance for teams while safeguarding the Wzd process. Additionally, you support care coordinators in their legal tasks and contribute to quality improvement, audits, reporting, and policy development.

You collaborate with doctors, psychologists, care coordinators, team leaders, managers, representatives, family caregivers, and client advocates to find solutions that prioritize both the client and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Promote optimal quality of life for clients by initiating open conversations, coaching, and guiding care teams to reflect on their actions and choices.
• Explore how to better align with clients' wishes, needs, and freedom within legal and regulatory boundaries, shifting focus from risk avoidance to seizing opportunities for experience-oriented and freedom-promoting care.
• Implement Wet zorg en dwang policies with the goal of centering client well-being and interests.
• Act as a bridge between legal frameworks and practice, as well as between care teams, locations, and living environments.
• Support care teams in complex situations, propose solutions, and think in terms of possibilities rather than limitations.
• Participate in case discussions, core team meetings, and provide on-the-job coaching and training.
• Ensure the Wzd process is followed, support care coordinators in their legal responsibilities, and contribute to quality, audits, reports, and policy development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to find solutions that balance client needs and high-quality care.
• Share knowledge and expertise to create buy-in, even in cases of initial resistance, and coach teams effectively.

Requirements

• You are a certified and BIG-registered nurse with experience working with individuals with dementia.
• You have knowledge of the Wet zorg en dwang or are eager to develop expertise in this area.
• You are a connector, bridging the gap between legal frameworks and practice, as well as between care teams, locations, and living environments.
• You have a strong understanding of the challenges on the work floor and maintain a helicopter view of operations.
• You look beyond protocols and rules, seeing the person behind the behavior and proposing solutions that lead to better choices.
• You think in terms of possibilities, positively engage colleagues, and thrive in situations where freedom, safety, and responsibility intersect.
• You are energized by collaboration, coaching, and strengthening teams.
• You easily switch between client-related cases, team support, quality issues, and policy development while working meticulously and with a focus on the needs of the work floor.
• You have didactic talent, enabling you to effectively convey knowledge and expertise, create buy-in, and coach teams, even when addressing large groups.
• You are driven by the client's best interests, focusing on solutions and what is possible.

Pay

The salary ranges from a minimum of €3,502.45 to a maximum of €4,822.50 gross per month for a 36-hour workweek, in accordance with FWG50 and the CAO-VVT.
