Forklift Test Driver

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has a contract position opening for a forklift test driver in our Fairview, Oregon facility. HYMH designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks under the Hyster and Yale brand names.

About the role

This position involves reliability and validation testing of prototype and production forklifts. You will drive forklifts following course maps and instructions, keep accurate test logs to communicate observations to technicians and engineers, perform simple facility or vehicle maintenance duties, and follow safety procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drive forklifts following course maps and instructions
• Keep accurate, legible, and knowledgeable test logs to communicate observations and events to technicians and engineers
• Perform simple facility or vehicle maintenance duties as assigned
• Follow safety procedures
• Follow written and verbal instructions

Requirements

• Forklift or heavy equipment driving experience is preferred
• Ability to multi-task using various hand and foot controls (e.g., riding a motorcycle or quad)

Schedule

• Third shift: Sunday night through Thursday night, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. with a paid 30-minute lunch
• May involve possible weekend overtime when testing projects are in high demand
