Forklift Operator Warehouse 1st Shift

Ryder is hiring Stand-Up Forklift Operators in Columbia, South Carolina. The position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career path that prioritizes safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Dealing with day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Providing technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during the core shift hour of production.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Able to work within a flexible schedule on various shifts.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.

Qualifications

• Punctuality and good attendance record.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Working using health and safety methods.

Pay

Hourly Pay: $17.50 per hour
Overtime Pay: $26.25 per hour
Additional Pay: $4.00 per hour extra, when working a weekend day.

Schedule

First Shift: 6:00am to 6:00pm.
2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on.
36 hours one week and 48 the next, in continuous cycle - every other weekend will be a 3 day weekend off.
