Forklift Operator - Salt Lake City
About the role
The Forklift Operations Associate position is responsible for moving and handling materials in the wood products yard/warehouse under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and designated leaders. The role operates propane or gas forklifts safely, loads/unloads products from various trailers and rail cars, and performs other essential functions.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
- Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars.
- Safely perform tasks to ensure personal and others' safety.
- Courageously intervene in any unsafe practices.
- Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
- Accurately count units, record totals, and document shipping and receiving activities.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
- Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A positive willing-to-learn attitude.
- No prior forklift operator experience required. Training provided.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work outside in the elements five days a week and occasionally on Saturdays depending on business needs.
- Ability to work on a computer.
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Ability to work full-time, evening shift starting at 4:00 PM.

Benefits
- Entry-level pay rate starts at $20.00 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential.
- Full-time schedule.
