Forklift Operator - Salt Lake City

About the role

The Forklift Operations Associate position is responsible for moving and handling materials in the wood products yard/warehouse under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and designated leaders. The role operates propane or gas forklifts safely, loads/unloads products from various trailers and rail cars, and performs other essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
• Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars.
• Safely perform tasks to ensure personal and others' safety.
• Courageously intervene in any unsafe practices.
• Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
• Accurately count units, record totals, and document shipping and receiving activities.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
• Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A positive willing-to-learn attitude.
• No prior forklift operator experience required. Training provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to work outside in the elements five days a week and occasionally on Saturdays depending on business needs.
• Ability to work on a computer.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Ability to work full-time, evening shift starting at 4:00 PM.

Benefits

• Entry-level pay rate starts at $20.00 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential.
• Full-time schedule.

• $20.00 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential.

Schedule

• Evening shift starting at 4:00 PM.
