Forklift Operator - Pallet Services

Location: Huntley, IL 60142

About the Role

This role is vital to the success of our Relogistics site! Forklift Operators wear many hats within the site, supporting production requirements by moving pallets and other materials through the warehouse, as well as loading and unloading customer trailers. You may also sort and repair damaged wooden pallets by hand in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Move sorted pallet stacks to appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment
• Operate forklifts with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times
• Hand-sort wooden pallets, when required
• Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun, when required
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift certification preferred
• 1-3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed

Work Environment

• Ability to work in extreme conditions including elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths
• The noise level in the work environment is dependent on location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
• May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.

Pay

Starting from USD $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Wednesday - Sunday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Wednesday - Sunday, 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM
