Forklift Operator Lead

Job Summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Freight Handler Lead with a safety‑first mindset and strong communication skills. The role involves leading by example, taking accountability for the team, and completing daily warehouse duties. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all team members are on time and ready for work.
• Inspect the dock to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Coordinate dock operations with dispatch.
• Meet with Operations Supervisors for daily assignments.
• Assist with loading and unloading a wide variety of freight.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lb and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 lb.
• Previous forklift experience – preferred.
• Previous supervisory or management experience – preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment skills assessment.
• Physical demands include frequent squatting and crouching, safely maneuvering freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500 lb with mechanical aid, carrying freight up to 40 lb for distances up to 20 ft, loading and unloading full trailers weighing up to 45,000 lb with mechanical aid, and opening/closing cargo doors and climbing into/out of vehicles.

Monday – Friday, 12 am – 8 am
