Forklift Operator - Lead (3rd Shift)

About the Role

Crescent Forklift Leads coordinate a team of Forklift Operators (FLOs) to move materials throughout the warehouse efficiently and safely. The role ensures FLOs are motivated and competent in providing logistics services to internal and external customers, adhering to the Crescent Way—3 P’s: Purpose, Process, People. The position reinforces the company culture of Doing it Right, Doing it Safe, and Doing it Well.

Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Read and understand "Doing it Safe" guidelines.
    • Ensure all FLOs comply with safety requirements.
    • Participate in and promote Safety Observations; address unsafe acts or behaviors.
    • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
    • Complete forklift and trailer inspection forms accurately.
  • People
    • Recognize and motivate talented FLOs to join the Crescent team full-time.
    • Train and mentor FLOs to meet targeted moves per hour and reach their potential.
    • Provide feedback to supervisors for meaningful FLO assessments.
    • Encourage FLOs to grow with Crescent.
    • Collaborate with support staff (Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor, Materials/Warehouse) to resolve issues.
  • Productivity
    • Assign workflow based on business demands and staffing to meet productivity targets.
    • Communicate with Production to prioritize, pull, and stage inventory accurately.
    • Coordinate with shipping and receiving to manage dock operations.
    • Recognize and motivate productive FLOs.
  • Quality
    • Ensure outbound trucks are loaded according to Crescent and customer requirements (weight, balance, load security).
    • Report safety incidents, near misses, accidents, mistakes, and product damages accurately.
    • Audit processes, load expectations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Maintain lot code integrity through all product movement processes.
  • Customer Value
    • Complete administrative tasks, including updating records and noting issues.
    • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Operations Supervisor.
  • Financial
    • Encourage team ideas to improve productivity, GMPs, and Right-Sized Work (RSW).
    • Seek ways to eliminate waste in warehouse operations.
  • Cultural Competencies
    • Do It Right: Champion quality and continuous improvement; monitor key factors impacting quality.
    • Do It Safe: Foster a safe, diverse, and inclusive environment; communicate effectively and handle conflict constructively.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Fast-paced environment requiring adherence to guidelines, teamwork, and adaptability to meet production goals. Physical demands include:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Hand-eye coordination to safely operate industrial equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Regulatory cGMP manufacturing experience.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement experience.

Pay

$21 USD per hour.
