About the role
The Forklift Operator I performs various warehouse tasks, with or without a PIT forklift, including building pallets, inbound unloading, outbound loading, replenishing the pick floor or Vertique mezzanine areas, and fulfilling customer orders. This role involves traveling throughout the warehouse to retrieve and stack products according to assigned pick tickets while maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards. Additional tasks may include pallet stacking, handling damaged products, and using a pallet jack as needed.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve and place cases of product onto pallets as instructed by pick tickets, ensuring safe and stable pallet construction while meeting warehouse safety and accuracy expectations.
- Unload inbound product, raw materials, or deposit items from docks to designated storage areas safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Load outbound product by transporting items from storage areas to loading docks and placing them on appropriate trailers safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Replenish product to warehouse pick areas or Vertique mezzanine areas by transporting items from storage to assigned locations/bins safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and warehouse; perform additional tasks such as pallet building as directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while walking and repetitively lifting 30–75 lbs.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
- Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.
- Ability to adapt to different work areas throughout the day and meet minimum expectations in each.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.
- Attention to detail and ability to differentiate packages.
- Ability to work in a noisy, non-climate-controlled environment, including high and low temperatures.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and proactively seeks value-add opportunities.
- Flexibility in scheduling, as work hours may change based on business demands.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferred: PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification (Pallet Jack, Single Forklift, Double Forklift, Scrubber).
Pay
$18.78 – $20.22 hourly, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with weekends and holidays as needed.
