Forklift Operator - D Shift (Nights)

Full-time night shift position with a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (15 days per month).

About the role

This position is responsible for the safe shipping and receiving of all raw materials and finished goods.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate equipment according to company GMP’s and Safety protocols.
  • Assist in setting up and controlling the FEFO/FIFO Inventory System to ensure uninterrupted flow of product and materials to various departments.
  • Model loads and paperwork handling best practices.
  • Train and mentor new hires as assigned by supervisors.
  • Ensure production has the correct packaging for the day.
  • Maintain accurate count of finished product.
  • Verify product is properly labeled with date code, pallet number, state, on hold, etc.
  • Submit daily counts to the office at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other personnel.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required by supervisor/customer.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.

Requirements

  • Forklift Certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills.
  • 1-3 years of warehouse/forklift experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems.
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations.

Job Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including:

  • Standing for extended periods and walking on occasionally slippery floors.
  • Handling equipment or materials.
  • Temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • The work environment can be loud; hearing protection (ear plugs) is required.
  • Employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.
  • Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce; this role may involve working around alcohol.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift for the entire shift.
  • Periodic standing on hard surfaces.
  • Vision requirements: distance, close, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequently required to stand, talk, or hear, use hands to finger, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Works in a production and warehouse environment, including exposure to forklifts, equipment, damp floors, mechanical parts, and vibration.

Schedule

  • 12-hour shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
  • 2-2-3 rotating shifts (15 days per month).
