About the Role
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and move them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, trucks, or storage facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift in a safe manner.
- Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
- Complete and document a forklift inspection form before the start of shift and when operating a new forklift; turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
- Adhere to daily production schedule and make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Complete assigned forms and reports accurately and timely, including Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Handle special projects and assignments as business dictates.
- Responsible for the maintenance, creation, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other protected information in compliance with company policies and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Requirements
- 0-2 years of corrugated packaging or general manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities to translate into efficient operation.
- Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications, and product quality specifications.
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
- Ability to use warehouse scanners.
- Attention to detail and focused concentration.
- Ability to complete tasks requiring a particular speed or productivity quota.
- Ability to adhere to process protocol and apply established protocols in a timely manner.

- Must regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibrations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Required to maintain a valid Forklift License.
- Required to maintain a valid State ID.
