Forklift Operator

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Repetitively unload trucks in accordance with established company standards.
  • Operate fork truck in accordance with standards and expectation presented in training.
  • Enter all bale movements in current computer/trucking system.
  • Publish inventory numbers.
  • Inspect all bales that are unloaded off the trailers and when loading the conveyor.
  • Use good mix of bales when loading conveyor.
  • Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals.
  • Cut beater stock with roll splitter or saw.
  • Clean and maintain loading area, keep work area clean throughout the shift.
  • Conduct a maintenance and safety check for fork truck at beginning and end of each assigned shift.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.

Skills And Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Good computer skills, ability to track inventory in a computer.
  • Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Must be team player, organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to multi-task in an environment with frequent changing priorities.
  • Able to operate a fork truck, clamp truck and/or bobcat.
  • Able to meet company quality and performance standards for job as specified.
  • Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota.
  • Able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

Physical Demands

  • Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stopping, and pulling).
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Able to work in hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and with heights.
  • Able to work in a tobacco free environment.
  • Willingness and ability to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel toes boots and any other required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
