About the role
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, trucks, or storage facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate and care for forklifts in a safe manner; must be qualified to properly operate the equipment.
- Complete and document a forklift inspection form before the start of each shift and when operating a new forklift; submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs.
- Locate stock before the start of each run and adhere to the daily production schedule.
- Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Deliver appropriate stock to machines safely and on time.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately and timely, including production data, machine operational status, safety data, and quality data.
- Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Perform special projects and assignments as business needs dictate.
- Maintain confidentiality and control of all personally identifiable information or other protected data in compliance with company policies and regulations, including HIPAA.
Requirements
- Three years of forklift experience required.
- Manufacturing experience preferred; prior work in the corrugated industry is a plus.
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Working knowledge of equipment design, capabilities, layouts, production specifications, and product quality specifications.
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of attention to prevent injury and promote a safe work environment.
- Ability to use warehouse scanners.
- Attention to detail and focused concentration.
- Ability to complete tasks under speed or productivity quotas.
- Ability to adhere to process protocols and apply them in a timely manner.
