Forklift Operator

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

• Use of handheld scanners for picking, receiving, put-a-way, and load functions as required.
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
• Unload and load product correctly using the appropriate handling and safety techniques.
• Segregate, label, check and stage inbound or outbound product correctly.
• Sign/Date, and completely fill out all required paperwork for each load.
• Enter any required data point in handheld device(s)

Good housekeeping and organizational skills and follow safety policies

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Selects the best possible candidate for each position, provides structure, direction, feedback, recognition, and accountability.
• Facilitates team processes, on-going training, and delegation.

Physical Requirements / Demands

• Regularly required to communicate verbally, listen, read and comprehend information, and type on a consistent and daily basis.
• A variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day.
• Ability to adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time.
• Potential lifting of up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing of ladders.
• Use of basic warehouse equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to differentiate colors, depth and perception.
