About the role
As a Forklift Operator, you will perform various duties in a fast-paced lean warehouse environment, including receiving and put-away of inbound receipts, shipping, and picking products to support plant operations. You will maintain inventory accuracy, monitor cooler/freezer temperatures, and keep the warehouse area organized. Stand-up forklift and RF scan gun experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, or by hand as needed).
- Operate stand-up forklifts safely and effectively.
- Utilize mobile handheld devices for tracking shipments.
- Safely climb in and out of trailers.
- Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently).
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools (e.g., pallets, straps, rope).
- Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock, which may be below freezing and slippery.
- Perform movements such as reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling as necessary.
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
- Adhere to company safety policies.
- Work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with frequent contact with co-workers and supervisors.
- Work safely in cold weather conditions.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of prior forklift experience.
- Stand-up forklift experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Good basic math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequently stand, communicate, and listen.
- Occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Visual perception, including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to perform repetitive movements.
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot).
Schedule
1st shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
