About The Role
The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center.
- Operate various types of forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport goods to designated locations.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized inventory system by accurately picking and placing orders using RF scanners and other warehouse technology.
- Safety and compliance with operational protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment.
- Support the overall supply chain process by facilitating timely and accurate material handling to meet business demands.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and material handling procedures.
- Able to read and interpret inventory documents and use RF scanning technology.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating multiple types of forklifts including stand-up forklifts and clamp trucks.
- Familiarity with general warehouse operations and order picking processes.
- Previous experience working with electric pallet jacks and other powered industrial trucks.
- Knowledge of warehouse management software and inventory control systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and clamp trucks to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items to prevent damage during transport.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, track, and record inventory movements.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance checks to ensure all machinery is in safe working condition.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
