Forklift Operator

Safety and Responsibilities

• Safely carry out and transport components and materials to the various required departments using a forklift (6,500 lb propane), an overhead crane, a pallet jack, or a hand truck.
• Inspect the components & materials received using the plans, BOM, MOC, receipt slip and other relevant documents.
• Identify the components & materials received.
• Keep the Reception area safe and clean (cutting and dismantling wooden pallets, preparation for recycling, etc.).
• Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift and handle equipment and materials.
• Bundle, wrap or band material for shipment.
• Communicate with supply and quality any non-compliant delivery and participate in the development of the non-compliance report (quarantine area).
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure accurate inventory.
• Participate to inventory/material counts.
• Participate when required in the loading of units.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience
• Computer Skills: ERP system and Microsoft office experience (an asset)
• Certificates & Licenses: Forklift license required and overhead crane license (an asset)
• Strong sense of time, organization, and urgency
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Perform work with precision and thoroughness
• Work at a steady pace and produce quality work
• Find a solution or proactively deal with work-related issues
• Versatile, autonomous, and responsible
• Continuous development of knowledge and skills
• Proficiency in English communication, both oral and written
