About the Role
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, moving them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, or storage facilities. Safely and accurately load finished product onto trailers for shipping.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload inbound shipments
- Move merchandise to storage locations
- Build, pick, and pack pallets
- Perform quality checks on inbound goods
- Carry out simple maintenance on the forklift, such as recharging its battery and refueling
- Identify and report mechanical and electrical faults to the supervisor or technicians
- Pack goods in the warehouse by hand when necessary
- Identify and report damage or safety concerns to managers and supervisors
- Move product within the company using a forklift or by hand
- Stack and relocate empty pallets
- Pack and move items other than goods as instructed, including hazardous wastes
- Weigh goods and record the weight in a log sheet
- Follow all company safety guidelines
- Read production sheets
- Reconcile roll tags at the end of shift
- Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Pass background check, drug screen, physical, and Caetus Aptitude testing
- At least 3 years of forklift experience
- Professional attitude and conduct
- Multi-tasking, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- High degree of safety awareness and discipline
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Ability to take the Caedus placement test for skill assessment
- Ability to work a full shift, arrive on time, and work according to schedule with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas
- At least 18 years of age
- Flexibility to meet business needs
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to add, subtract, and multiply
- Self-motivated
- Able to work in varying temperatures
