Forklift Operator

About the role

The Forklift Operator position at Georgia-Pacific's Corrugated facility in Kansas City, MO is seeking individuals with minimum six (6) months of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. The role involves operating a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers, ensuring loads are properly secured and accurately recorded, adhering to safety and environmental guidelines, performing general housekeeping, and supporting production with tasks like lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition.
• Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
• Pull whip and raw material for production support.
• Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least 8 hours a day.

Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) months of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or scan gun for documentation and/or record-keeping functions.

Qualifications

• One year or more of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry.

Pay

Salary: $23.96 per hour
2nd Shift Differential - three dollars per hour = $26.96
3rd Shift Differential - Two dollars per hour = $25.96
Shifts: 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Starts Monday night)
Overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Schedule

Shift: Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed. Current openings are for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The first two (2) weeks of orientation will be on day shift, then you will be assigned your 2nd OR 3rd shift after your orientation.
