Forklift Operator

About the role

This position performs warehouse and material distribution tasks, including receiving and shipping product. You will move inventory by operating a forklift in a fast-paced medical technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload inbound trucks (inter-company deliveries, vendors, etc.)
  • Load outbound trucks (inter-company shipments, off-site warehouse, etc.)
  • Locate and retrieve products as well as replenish picking locations using FEFO methodology
  • Move pallets on dock
  • Physically stack/transport product from larger sterilization pallet to regular pallet before moving by forklift to dock (as required)
  • Ensure all assigned duties are safely completed in a timely manner in accordance with department standards and procedures
  • Maintain an acceptable work area as outlined in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Prioritize safety and maintain safe working conditions by adhering to proper operating practices and procedures
  • Perform general warehouse associate duties
  • Train new hires on RF functions
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Safety shoes are required for this position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience of 1 year consecutive relevant experience
  • 1 year minimum experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as Reach Trucks
  • Certified/Licensed to operate material handling equipment
  • Minimum 1 year experience using an RF scanner

  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
  • Ability to work under minimal direction
  • Proficiency in a performance-measured environment
  • Ability to concentrate and remain alert at all times
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Safe operation of MHE
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions (written and oral)
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:

  • Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, and grasping
  • Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, which may include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers
  • Occasional climbing
  • Lifting over 50 lbs in some areas (not all)

Work Environment

  • Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Work in high, precarious places
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
  • Moderate to loud noise levels

This role requires a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain collaboration and operational excellence.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
