About the Role
The Utility role requires a thorough working knowledge of all Plant Material Control and Columbus Distribution Center (CDC) job functions, including applicable departmental equipment and systems such as Forklift, Cambar, HK Systems, TTMS, AMAPS, MITS, and AES. This position involves line support, receiving, loading, unloading, creating bills of lading (BOLs), case picking, and assuming computer room responsibilities as needed. You will maintain compliance with all GMP, safety, and quality guidelines, operate a yard tractor safely, and perform preventative maintenance by monitoring and responding to Plant and CDC automation systems and equipment. Leadership skills are required to cover for Crew Leaders when needed.
Responsibilities
- Receiving Operations: Create accurate and legible documentation, perform data entry accurately, maintain all applicable systems with needed information, and safely and efficiently process inbound pallets. Ensure inventory accuracy by verifying SKU, quantity, and lot number at each touch point.
- Loading, Unloading, Case Picking, Labeling, High-Stacking, and Palletizer Operations: Perform all tasks safely, ensure accurate documentation and inventory accuracy, follow process procedures/guidelines, and load trailers to meet weight requirements. Operate palletizer equipment and shuttle wagon/switcher safely to meet business needs.
- Shipping/Receiving Office Functions: Release orders from CAMBAR in a timely manner, ensure all documentation is accurate, address people professionally, maintain databases with timely entries, and ensure BOLs are signed/dated by the Common Carrier Driver and Clerk during the shift.
- General Functions:
- Clean finished goods warehouse areas to GMP standards and support the master sanitation program.
- Support the Department’s Continuous Improvement Program, including root cause analysis.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by management to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience using forklifts and forklift certification.
- 6+ months of job experience within distribution center warehousing operations.
- Experience with tools and equipment related to the position (e.g., hand tools, full-body harness, sit-down forklift, stand-up pick vehicle, computer skills) is desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- In-depth knowledge of all receiving/warehouse operations, procedures, and requirements, typically obtained through on-the-job training.
Schedule
1st shift, Thursday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (4 × 10-hour shifts).
Pay
The base pay for this position is $15.80–$31.60 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
