Forklift Operator - 1st shift - Ellsworth

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, hoist or crane.
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
• Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey load to destination or signal crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
• Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory quantities.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials; mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist; clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Assemble crates to contain products, such as parts or products, using handtools and precut lumber.
• Understand and use of AS400 and RF units to find location of parts, routing, product structure and parts availability.
• Absorb and assist in receiving of parts from vendor and route truck.
• Absorb and assist with cycle counts as needed.
• Daily inspection and safe operation of forklift.
• Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Previous forklift operator experience is required.
• Ability to understand team concepts and be a strong team player.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure situations and be results-oriented.
• Understanding of lean concepts and willing to implement change.
• Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
