Primary Duties
- Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, by use of equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift.
- Checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing for processing by lot numbers.
- Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
- Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation.
- Record documents to appropriate forms and/or logbooks. Verify that proper identification is attached.
- Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location by part number.
- Perform forklift duties and learn to cube basic loads.
- Auxiliary in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.
- Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports.
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
- Scan outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and quality control.
- Ensure and comply with all procedures established to ensure product is being properly controlled.
- Communicate all problems and concerns regarding shipment scanning to Team Leader.
- Identify damaged items staged in outbound bays.
- Inspect outbound products for quality assurance.
- Accurately document results of outbound audits upon completion.
Required Skills
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck and pallet jack.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities.
- Consistently at work and on time.
Education/Certifications/Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess or could become forklift certified.
- Driver’s License or equivalent.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
