About the role
The warehouse associate will operate a forklift to move, put-away, relocate, and stack materials in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism with all employees and outside services.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to move, pick, and store products, maximizing storage by stacking vertically
- Work with racking systems and load/unload pallets
- Collaborate in a team environment for joint problem-solving
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including using horns and maintaining safe speeds
- Read production work orders, customer orders, and purchase orders to determine items to be moved or picked
- Follow directions from supervision/leads, prioritize tasks, and display a sense of urgency
- Receive raw materials using the ERP system, validate receipts against packing slips, placard skids, and put away into storage locations
- Ensure stock rotation in accordance with FIFO (First In/First Out) procedures
- Combine, count, and mark partial items properly to maintain inventory accuracy
- Complete put-away, storage, and handling of finished goods and raw materials accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous forklift experience (1 year preferred)
- Satisfactory completion of internal forklift training program
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to train in other areas of the plant
- Availability to work overtime on short notice, including weekends, evenings, or holidays
- Capability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Skills
- Preferred experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365
Physical Demands
- Forklift/mechanical equipment operation for 95% of the workday
- Frequent sitting, walking, and standing
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Work Environment
- Manufacturing area with high noise levels requiring hearing protection
- Exposure to extreme temperatures depending on the season and area, with limited temperature regulation
- Presence of complex machinery and equipment; requires awareness of moving parts and operational hazards
Pay
$18.50 per hour and above, based on relevant experience. Night shift receives an additional $1.10 shift premium.
Schedule
12-hour shift on a 2-2-3-2 rotation.
