Summary
This position is responsible for inspecting and repairing vehicles, machinery, and light trucks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities including but not limited to forklifts, warehouse, vehicles, and machinery.
- Performs assigned repairs and maintenance such as tune-ups and oil changes, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs, replace batteries, starters, lights, and engages in other similar tasks.
- Identifies mechanical problems visually and/or with computer diagnostic equipment.
- Performs tests on tools and equipment to ensure repairs are completed properly including test drives.
- Assists in inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
- Assists in maintaining repair log for all equipment.
- Advises Facilities and Maintenance Foreman of equipment and facilities malfunctions that may require purchase of new parts, pieces, or equipment.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area by returning tools to proper location.
- Assists in coaching new hires during the on-boarding process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: Time & Labor Management System; and Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
- Other skills required: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals. Ability to follow company directives and instruction. In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
