About the Role
Novolex is hiring a Forklift Driver in Salisbury. This role involves operating warehouse equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and managing inventory in a high-volume production environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate all warehouse equipment, including forklifts and clamp trucks, to transfer finished goods and products.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, following department standards.
- Move and transfer materials and finished goods in a high-volume production environment.
- Support Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions related to inventory and load management (e.g., pick lists, PGI).
- Check the accuracy of finished product counts, product IDs, order destinations, and carrier IDs before loading vehicles.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately.
- Adhere to safety standards, Standard Work Instruction Sheets (SWIS), and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and change propane tanks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of recent forklift experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year of sit-down forklift experience required.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Must obtain and maintain valid Novolex Forklift and Safety Certifications.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced Warehouse/Logistics environment.
- Prior use of RF barcode readers and vehicle-mounted (VMU) computer systems preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing (English required).
- Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Certification in Lockout/Tag Out and Forklift Operation required upon assignment.
Physical Requirements
- Exposure to hot temperatures in summer and cold temperatures in winter.
- Possible exposure to dust and machine noise (ear protection provided but not required).
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Frequent: sitting, kneeling/crawling/bending, stair climbing, carrying (0-40 lbs. for 5-10 feet), out-reaching, standing, walking.
- Occasional: stoop/squat, ladder/steps climbing, bend/twist.
- Repetitive use of wrists, hands, fingers, shoulders, elbows, hips, ankles, head, and neck.

Schedule
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM rotating shift with every other weekend off.
Pay
$18.13/hr based on experience, with a skill-based wage increase after 3 months.
