About the role
As a Forklift Operator at DSV, you will operate power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also perform Order Filler and Checker duties. Your role ensures accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product while meeting company standards of safety, security, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Receiving/Put-Away: Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Input data accurately into WMS. Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate area. Maintain an organized work area.
- Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards. Prepare freight accurately and timely.
- Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
- Delivery: Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage to production lines or staging docks. Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
- Inventory: Maintain records to guarantee tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Assist in warehouse security.
- Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate, and site-specific policies.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklifts or other power equipment.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain an active forklift certification.
- Maintenance: Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties:
- Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed.
- Participate in physical inventories.
- Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
- Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 6 months of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
- Able to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures (mild to moderate variations).
Schedule
- Shift 1A: Sunday–Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM or 5:00 PM–5:30 AM.
- Shift 2B: Thursday–Saturday and alternating Wednesdays, 5:00 PM–5:30 AM.
Pay
The expected base pay for this position is $24.00 per hour.
